LA MAGGIOLATA
(The most important folkloristic festival in Tuscany)
Lucignano has a remarkable folklore tradition, which is somehow linked to its being an agricultural village. The proper rituals of the rural civilisation, stressed by the cycle of seasons, are still present in the gentle lines of the unspoiled landscape and in the gestures and the expressions of the inhabitants.

PROJECT LUCIGNANO: ART, LANGUAGE AND FOLKLORE
As mother of the Italian language, Tuscany was and still is considered the birthplace of Italian artists of international fame.
Not only Dante, Petrarca, Boccaccio, Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo and Vasari but also Giacomo Puccini, Giotto, Botticelli and many other local artists and personalities produced their artistic works here. They still live on in the region's architecture and in our hearts.
Together with the works and spirit of these personalities our students will be offered a wide range of opportunities:
- Learning Italian or perfecting one's knowledge of it
- Art classes
- Immersion in the region's folklore
- Experiencing the enchantment of the Tuscan landscape, the richness of its flavours, the warmth of its sun and the affection of its people
